A lacy, soft shrug combining a print and a solid color of Kid Merino. Many

Size:
Small/Medium, (Large/XLarge)
Garment Measurements:
20.25 X 45 (22 X 47)", excluding ruffle trim
Size shown is Large/XLarge
Materials:
Crystal Palace Kid Merino
3 - 25 gr balls print, color#9813 - "roses"; 2- 25 gr balls solid, color#4686 -
"strawberry soda".
MC = one strand solid and 1 strand print held together.
CC = two strands of print color held together.
Crystal
Palace Bamboo Needles:
10-¾ (or 11) straight or circular needle; and 10-3/4, 16" and 35" circular needle
for ruffle trim, OR size to obtain gauge.
Note: 10-¾ (7 mm) is preferred size for body of shrug, but we show 11 in
case you do not use CPY Bamboo or DAISY needles and 10-¾ is not available to
you.

Abbreviations:
Beg-beginning; BO-bind off; CC- contrast color; CO-cast on; K- knit; K2tog- knit
2 stitches together; MC- main color; psso-pass slip stitch over; p-purl;
Sl1-slip 1 stitch knitwise; Rep-repeat; RS-right side; St(s)- stitch (es) WS-
wrong side; YO-yarn over.
Gauge:
8.5 sts = 4 inches and 12.75 rows = 4 inches. 2 strands yarn held together, in
lace pattern using size 10-¾ needles, blocked.
The blocking is necessary to open up the lace pattern.
Be sure to make a gauge swatch; block and measure on flat surface.
Body:
Note: Worked in one-piece beginning at sleeve edge.
Using size 10-¾ needle and MC, loosely cast on 43 (47) st. Knit one row, purl
one row. Begin working rows 1-4 of Stitch pattern as follows:

Row 1: K2*YO, k3, yo, k1; rep from * to last st end k1. 63 (67 sts)
Row 2: K1, purl to last st, k1. 63 (67 sts)
Row 3: *K3, sl1, k2tog, psso; rep from * end k3. 43 (47 sts)
Row 4: K1, purl to last st, k1. 43 (47sts)
Rep the 4 rows of stitch pattern until piece measures 45 (47)"; end after
working a row 4. Bind Off loosely. (You may want to use needle 2 sizes larger
than needle size used for body).
Finishing:
Block before seaming and working ruffle trim. Fold rectangle in half
lengthwise, beg at cast on sleeve edge, RS together. Using MC, sew sleeve seam
11". Repeat for other sleeve.
Sleeve Trim:
Using CC and size 10-½, 16" circular needles, RS facing; pick up 41(45) sts
at sleeve edge. Join and work the following rounds.
Rnd 1: Knit
Rnd 2: K into front and back of each st 90 sts
Rnd 3: Knit
Rnd 4: Knit into front and back of each st 180 sts
Rnd 5: Knit
Bind Off all sts using regular knitting tension (not too loose).
Body Trim:
Using CC and size 10-½, 35" circular needles, RS facing. Beg at seam, pick
up (78) sts around body opening to next seam, (78) sts around remaining body
opening; (156) sts (it works out to 1 st pick up for each row along the edge).
Join and work the following rounds.
Rnd 1: Knit
Rnd 2: Knit into front and back of each st. (312) sts
Rnd 3: Knit
Rnd 4: Knit into front and back of each st. (624) sts
Rnd 5: Knit
Bind Off all sts using regular knitting tension (not too loose).
Work in Ends.
