Crystal Palace Bamboozle: 7 (8, 9, 10) 50 gr. balls
(shown here is color #7190 'coral sea')
Needles:
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles US Size 7 (4.5 mm) and US Size 8 (5mm) needles
Notions:

2 stitch markers
5 buttons 3/4” diameter

Gauge: 19 sts and 30 rows = 4" in pattern stitch, blocked; using Size 8 (5 mm) needles. Be sure to work a gauge swatch.

Bottom Band
Rows 1, 4, and 5: Purl.
Rows 2, 3, 6, and 7: Knit.

Body

Row 1: P10 (12, 14, 16), SM, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2, [k1, p1] 6 times; k1, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2; SM, p10 (12, 16, 18).

Body
Row 1: Purl to marker, SM, p2, k2, p2, k2, p2; SM, purl to end.
Row 2: Knit to marker, SM, k2 p2, k2, p2, k2, SM, knit to end.
Row 3: Knit to marker, SM, p2, k6, p2, SM, knit to end.
Row 4: Purl to marker, SM, k2, p6, k2, SM, purl to end.
Repeat rows 1-4, AT THE SAME TIME, increase 1 st at each end every 6 rows 2 (2, 4, 9) times and every 4 rows 8 (10, 8, 3) times―50 (54, 56, 58) sts.
Work even until sleeve measures 6 1/2 (7 1/2, 8 3/4, 9 1/2)” from CO edge. Bind off all stitches.

Finishing
Sew shoulder seams. Work button and buttonhole bands and collar. Sew sleeves placing center of sleeve to shoulder seam. Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in all ends, sew on buttons.

Buttonhole Band
Note:
written for girl, reverse bands for boy.
Using Size 8 ndls, RS facing, beg at lower right front edge. PU35 (39, 43, 47) sts along right front edge.
Row 1(WS): Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3 (buttonholes): P2, BO next 2 sts, *p4 (5, 6, 7) BO next 2 sts; rep from * end p1.
Row 4: K2, CO2, *k5 (6, 7, 8) CO2; rep from * to last 3 sts; K3.
Row 5: Knit.
Row 6: Purl.
Bind off all sts.

Button Band
Note: written for girl, reverse bands for boy.
Using Size 8 ndls, RS facing, beg at left front neck edge. PU35 (39, 43, 47) sts along left front edge.
Row 1: Knit.
Rows 2 and 3: Purl.
Rows 4 and 5: Knit.
Row 6: Purl.
Bind off all sts.

Collar
Using Size 7 circular ndls, RS facing; beg at right front neck edge (band). PU 19 sts to right shoulder seam, 23 (25, 25, 27) sts across back to left shoulder seam; 19 sts along left front neck (band). Work in K1, P1 (seed stitch) for 20 (20, 22, 22) rows.
Work next 8 rows as follows:
Rows 1, 4, 5, and 8: Knit.
Rows 2, 3, 6, and 7 : Purl.

Bind off all sts.
