Mock Rib Scarf
in Choo-Choo,
an unusual railroad ribbon yarn

 

Mock Rib SCARF in Choo-Choo
scarf is knit lengthwise on circular needles
 

2 balls of Choo-Choo: shown in colors #1610 (summer heat)
and #1611 (teal green)

Size 13 circular 26" CPY Bamboo Needles

Cast on 120 sts loosely with color A
Work 3 rows in St st (stockinette)
Change to color B and work 3-4 rows in Rev St st (purl side to front)
Change back to color A and work 3-4 rows in St st.
Continue to build stripes always working A in St st and B in Rev St st.
This will form a ribbed appearance.

I worked 5 stripes each in Color A and B, ending with Color B.
Cast off LOOSELY
(change to size 15 needle for cast off if you have a tendency to cast off tightly.)

Dampen and block on a big towel to spread stripes out.
