Crystal Palace Yarns
Use this flower to pin onto a bag (as we did on the Raggedy Knit Bag HERE) or as a garment trim. Make several to decorate a shawl or jacket. Kim used a Crystal Palace Bamboo Crochet Hook size H/8 and Deco-Ribbon color 9147, "berry parfait" with an accent of tangerine in the center. Make 8ch, sl st into first ch to form a ring.
To make center of flower: Using a few yards of a brightly colored Deco-Ribbon and size 8 knitting needles, cast on 6 sts. Work in seed st (K1, P1) for 8 rows. Cast off. Fold the 4 corners of this piece to the center and sew in place using a tapestry needle and yarn ends. Sew flower center to crocheted flower. Sew pin backing or safety pin to the back of the flower. * This crocheted flower was adapted by Kim Huhta for Deco-Ribbon from a design in a smaller gauge in The Harmony Guide to 100s More Crochet Stitches by Beryl Kempner, Lyric Books (1992) page 54. copyright 2003 Crystal Palace Yarns - this pattern may be used for non-commercial personal or guild use. It is not to be used in any "for sale" publication. Knitting Shops carrying Crystal Palace Yarns Deco-Ribbon are welcome to use these free patterns for their customers. |
