Materials:
2 balls Crystal Palace Yarns  FIZZ - 120 yds/50 gr.
and 2 balls Fjord Wool or 2 balls of Aran solid color wool.

Size 13, 9" SP Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles

Holding both 1 strand of the wool yarn and 1 strand of Fizz together, Cast on loosely 20 stitches with size 13 USA needles.
Work in Garter Stitch (k every row) with both yarns tog
until you see that you are about to run out of Fjord - bind off loosely.
Your knit scarf will look very loose and holey at this point.

Felting:
Set your washing machine for a small load size with warm water.
Put in 3-4 Tablespoons of liquid dish detergent.
Add scarf and 1-2 cotton terry hand towels or a bath size towel.
Stay with your machine while felting so you can check on progress.
Run wash cycle for approx. 5-6 minutes. Lift out scarf to check progress.
If no sign of felting, allow to wash another 4-5 minutes. Check again.
For this scarf to remain soft and have drape you do not want to make solid felt, you will stop felting when the knit stitches are blurred looking, but you can still see them.  Rinse well, roll in a towel to dry.

Washing machines vary in amount of agitation and times will vary. My Magtag machine took 11 minutes to felt the scarf shown in the sample.
