1 (2) - 100 gr ball Crystal Palace Iceland # 4889 - 'teal lake'
1 (1) - 50 gr ball Crystal Palace Popcorn # 431 - 'fruit salad'
Crystal Palace Bamboo or Daisy Needles size 10 - DP and 16" circular needlesGauge: 3 stitches to 1” in 2X2 rib, relaxed.
Cast on: 54 (58, 62) stitches, join into round.
Work in K2,P2 rib for 3 (5)”Add Popcorn to Iceland and Knit for 1 row.
*Next row, Increase one stitch in 1st stitch and each 10th stitch.
Knit one round.*Repeat between **4 (6,6) times. 8, (12) rows. Count stitches you should have a total number of stitches divisible by 10. If you don’t, no fear, add necessary amount evenly in next round.
Knit 4 rows.
Decrease: (Change to double point needles when work gets too tight on circular)
*K8, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
* K7, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K6, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K5, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K4,K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K3, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K2, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K1, K2tog*, repeat around.
Knit one row.
*K2tog*, repeat around.
*K2tog*, repeat around. (4 stitches)
Place remaining 4 stitches on one double point needle, work in I-cord for 2 rows.
Cast off.
Cut yarn, using darning needle or crochet hook draw yarn tail down through center of I-cord to inside of hat; trim off excess. Weave in tail at start of hat and tail of Popcorn on top edge of brim.Designed and Knit by: Christy Pyles for Sheep to Shawl and Crystal Palace Yarns.
