Note:
This Jacket is knit in one piece and from side to side. The back of the jacket
is longer than the front this is what makes the nice drape. You must also use a
circular needle because you will be knitting only one row of Iceland in between
two rows of Party.
To add new ball of yarn, go to the bottom edge of the back of the jacket to
connect new strand.
Jacket
Cast on 132 sts with Party and begin knitting starting from row 2 of pattern
stitch. Work until piece is 17" long and ending with row 1. Cast off 54 sts and
work for 7 ½" (this is the neck). Then ending with row 1 cast on 54 sts and work
a further 17" ending with either row 2 or 5 bind off all sts.
Finishing
Fold the piece in half so that the bottom of the front and the bottom of the
back are together. Then sew up to within 10" of the fold line. This 10" opening
is the arm hole. Because the neckline is offset, the front of the jacket is
shorter than the back. Starting at the seam line work 1 row reverse single
crochet around the bottom, front and neck edges of the jacket.
