Asymmetrical Cable Pullover
knit with Merino Frappe

This soft cropped pullover has an asymmetrical ribbed cable, a mock turtleneck and full-fashion detailing. The bottom edge is deliberately irregular.

Materials:
Merino Frappe
  6 (7, 9, 10, 10) balls (model knit in color 204 "white white")
CPY Bamboo Needles or DAISY Needles US size 9 (5.0 mm) SP and also in 26" or 29" circular Be sure to test your gauge with swatch first.
cable st holder

Gauge: 4 sts & 6 rows/inch measured over St st. Be sure to do a swatch to check your gauge.

Abbreviations:
CO=cast on, BO=bind off, beg=beginning, Dec= decrease, pm=place marker
sm=slip marker, St st=stockinette stitch, rem=remaining,
 

Sizes :
S (M, L, XL, 1X)
Finished chest measurements: 36 (40, 44, 48, 52)"

Back
CO 72 (80, 88, 96, 104) sts. Work in St st until piece measures 11½ (12, 12½, 13, 13½)".
Armhole shaping:

BO 5 (7, 8, 9 , 10) sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st at each end end every other row 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) times.
Work even until piece measures 19½ (20½, 21½ , 22½, 23½)" from beg.

Shoulder shaping:

BO 5 (5, 5, 5, 6) sts at the beg of next 4 rows, then 4 (4, 5, 6, 5) sts at the beg of next 2 rows.
Back neck:

Place rem 24 (26, 28, 30, 32) sts on holder.

Front
[Note that 8 extra sts are CO for front to make up for cable take-up.]
CO 80 (88, 96, 104, 112) sts.
Set up row for cable:

K 29 (34, 39, 44, 49), pm, P1, *K1, P1* rep 13 times from *to*, pm, K 24 (27, 30, 33, 36)
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15:
P 24 (27, 30, 33, 36), sm, K1, *P1, K1* rep 13 times from *to*, sm, P 29 (34, 39, 44, 49)
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14: K 29 (34, 39, 44, 49), sm, P1, *K1, P1* rep 13 times from *to*, sm, K 24 (27, 30, 33, 36)
Row 16: K 29 (34, 39, 44, 49), sm, place 13 sts on a cable needle and hold in front, *K1, P1* 7 times from *to*, P1, *K1, P1* rep 6 times from *to* sts from cable needle, sm, K 24 (27, 30, 33, 36)
Rep Rows 1-16 and work as for Back, including armhole shaping.
Front Neck:

When Front measures 17 (18, 19, 20, 21) from beg, keeping to pattern, work 23 (24, 25, 27, 28) sts, place center 14 (14, 16, 16, 18) sts on holder, attach second ball of yarn and work last 23 (24, 25, 27, 28) sts.
Working both sides at the same time, at neck dec 1 st every other row 6 (5, 5, 5, 5 ) times, then BO 3 (2, 2, 2, 2) sts, then BO 0 (2, 2, 3, 3 ) sts.
Work even until Front measures same as Back. BO shoulders same as Back.

Sleeves
Cast on 32 (34, 38, 40, 44) sts. Inc 1 st each end every 4th row 1 (1, 1, 3, 1) times, then every 6th row 15 (16, 16, 15, 17) times. Work even until sleeve measures 16½ (17½, 17½, 18, 18½)".
Cap shaping:

BO 5 (7, 8, 9, 10) sts beg next 2 rows.
Dec 1 st each end every other row 19 (19, 20, 21) times.
Size XL only: Dec 1 st every 4th row 2 times, then every other row 20 times.
BO rem sts.

Finishing
Sew shoulders together. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. Make collar.

Collar
With circular needles, knit 24 (26, 28, 30, 32) sts from back neck holder, pick up 11 (10, 10, 11, 11) sts along side of neck, knit 14 (14, 16, 16, 18) sts from front neck holder, pick up 11 (10, 10, 11, 11) sts along side of neck. Join. Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 6" or desired length.

Weave in ends on WS. Block as necessary.
