Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles:
• 16” circular needle, size 10.5
• 8” double point needles, size 10.5
• 1 ball each Rave – #302 Pacificer Pink & #301 Outrage Orange
• 1 ball Party Ribbon – #213 BlackSizes: 56 stitches for teen/small (66 stitches for medium/large - adult )
Instructions
Cast 56 (66) stitches using circular needle, with Black Party #213 for 5 rows, change to Rave #301 Outrage Orange and knit stripe for desire width and change to Black Party and knit 2 or 3 rows, change to Rave #302 Pacificer Pink and knit for desire width, continue striping for a total of 9” to the crown.
Decrease rounds: knit 2 stitches together until 9 stitches are left. Change to DP needles when diameter gets too small for circular needle.
Finishing top:
Split 9 stitches into 3 groups: 3 stitches, 3 stitches, and 3 stitches for I -cord top trim. Knit each group of 3 sts into I-cords for desired length.
Optional: add opposite colors of Rave on ends of I-Cord as we did in photo.Sew all openings at top with same color yarn. Knot the ends of I-Cords and tie the three I-Cords together.
