Finished size:
8" x 60" (before blocking), 11" x 56" (after blocking)
This scarf is knit all in one piece.
The
pattern will give a scalloped edge
at both ends when blocked.
MATERIALS:
The scarf shown in the photo uses 1 ball, of course it can be longer with 2 balls.
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles: 9" size 7.
Abbreviations:
psso:
Pass slip stitch over;
sl1: slip 1 stitch;
yo: yarn over;
tog: together
Pattern:

chart)
Cast on 43 stitches
very loosely.
Rows 1 and 3:
(wrong side): Purl
Row 2:
K2tog, yo, * k3, yo, k1, (sl 1, k2tog,
psso), k1, yo, k3, yo, (sl 1, k2tog, psso), yo. Repeat from * to last 13 sts, then k3, yo, k1, (sl 1, k2tog, psso), k1, yo, k3, yo, (sl 1, k1, psso).
Row 4: K2tog, yo, * k4, yo, (sl 1, k2tog, psso),
yo. Repeat from * to last 6 sts, then k4, yo, (sl 1, k1, psso).
Repeat these 4 rows until scarf measures 55 inches,
or desired length. Cast off loosely on wrong side with purl stitches. Wash or
dampen thoroughly or spritz with water and block (DO NOT STEAM TO BLOCK).
We blocked this scarf by
pinning it on big bath towel to let it dry.
