Monaco Big Cable Scarf

Size: 4.5" x 41"
Introduction: The slow striping colors move across this soft, bamboo blend scarf. Monaco is a slow striping yarn blended of bamboo and rayon, no wool content. The surface has a soft luster.
Gauge: 3.5-3.75 sts/inch in Stockinette St.
Materials
Yarn: Crystal Palace Monaco
2-50 g balls of color desired. Color shown is #402, Rainbow Trout
Needles: Crystal Palace Bamboo
US size 10 or size needed to obtain gauge.
Cable Needle or single DP needle to use for cable
Instructions:
Cast on 24 sts.
Work 4 rows of garter st (K all rows).
Row 1: K4, P4, K8, P4, K4 (note that outer 4 sts on each side are always worked
in garter st)
Row 2: K4, K4, P8, K4, K4
Rows 3 & 5: repeat row 1
Rows 4 & 6: repeat row 2
Row 7: (cable twist row) K4, P4,
move 4 sts to cable needle, hold
in front of work, K4 from left needle, now K4 from cable needle, P4, K4.
Row 8: repeat row 2
Work 12 rows between cables (that is, work rows 1 & 2 6 times)
Work Cable Row 7.
Continue to work 12 rows between each cable twist.
When almost out of yarn, work last 4 rows in garter stitch and bind off loosely.
Dampen scarf, roll in big towel, block to dry.
