Description: This super soft scarf features an all-over cabled pattern on large needles for a very comfortable and warm accessory.
Level: Easy to Intermediate
Size: 46" x 8"
Materials:
Yarn: 4-50g balls of
Crystal Palace
Chunky Mochi (shown in color #817 Beach Scene)
Needles: Crystal Palace Bamboo 12"
Single-Pointed Needles in US size 11, or size needed for gauge
Cable needle
Yarn sewing needle

Gauge: 3.5 sts=1" in pattern
Abbreviations: beg- beginning; BO- bind off; C4R- cable 4 Right (slip next 2 sts on cable needle and hold in BACK of work, knit next 2 stitches, then knit the 2 sts on the cable needle) C4L- cable 4 left (slip next 2 sts on cable needle and hold in FRONT of work, knit next 2 sts, then knit the 2 sts off the cable needle); CO- cast on; k- knit; p- purl; rep- repeat; st(s) - stitches
Instructions:
CO 28 sts. Knit 1 row for garter st edge.
Begin Woven Cable Pattern:
Row 1: (RS): K
Row 2: P
Row 3: C4L across.
Row 4: P
Row 5: K
Row 6: P
Row 7: K2, C4R to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 8: P
Repeat these 8 rows until piece measure 45.5", ending with a Row 3. Knit 1 row for garter st edge. BO. Weave in ends. Block scarf to measurements.
*Cowl Option:
(This option uses only 2 balls of Chunky Mochi.)
If you would rather make the cowl version instead of the full-length scarf, simply follow the pattern
until piece measures 23", omitting the garter st row at each edge and ending
with a Row 8, rather than a Row 3. BO.
Weave in ends. Block to
measurements (23" x 8"). Sew up seam.
