Knit with our self-striping yarn, Merino Stripes, a very soft brushed yarn,
90% merino wool in 14 different self-striping
combinations of 3 colors each.
Finished Scarf is approx. 66 inches long x 9 inches wide.
Materials:
3 - 50 gr. balls
Merino Stripes
(scarf in photo uses color #060 "Grand
Canyon")
CPY Bamboo Needles
or DAISY Needles Size 10.5
This scarf is
made in two pieces and sewn together at center because of the
directional pattern.
Abbreviations:
Inc: increase; psso: Pass slip stitch over; sl: slip; K2tog: knit 2 sts together
Instructions
Cast on 29 sts.
R1: Inc in first st, K12, sl 1, K2 tog, psso, K11, inc in next st, K1.
R2: Knit
Rep these two rows until piece measures 32".
Continue as follows to shape end:
K2tog, K11, sl 1, K2tog, psso, K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
Knit 1 row.
K2tog, K9, sl 1, K2tog, psso, K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
K 1 row.
K2tog, K7, sl 1, K2tog, psso, K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
K 1 row.
K2tog, K5, sl 1, K2tog, psso, K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
K 1 row.
K2tog, K3, sl 1, K2tog, psso, K to last 2 sts, K2tog
K1 row
K2tog, K1, sl 1, K2tog, psso, K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
(5 sts remain)
K 1 row.
K2tog, K1, K2tog.
Sl 1, K2tog, psso. Fasten off.
Make a second piece in the same fashion. Sew together at center.
