1-25 gr ball of Crystal Palace Kid
Merino #4687 "lemon sherbert"
+ 1-100 gr. ball of Labrador #7264 "jeans"
[Note: You can actually make 2 scarves with this amount of
yarn.]
Size 17 - 26"
Crystal Palace Circular Bamboo needles
or Size 17 - 29" DAISY Circular
Needles
Note: You can do this same scarf with Iceland
instead of Labrador for a slightly less scribble effect, but it will be equally
fun and good looking.
Scarf will be approx. 6-7 feet long and 9-10" wide.
Scarf is knit lengthwise all in garter stitch (knit all rows).
Directions:
Cast on 100 stitches with Labrador using a cable cast on (or other loose,
stretchy cast-on method you prefer.)
K 1 row
Change to Kid Merino
Knit 6 rows of Kid Merino.
Change to Labrador and knit 1 row.
Continue to knit 6 rows of Kid Merino and 1 row of Labrador until you have
completed 4 bands of Kid Merino.
Knit 1 last row of Labrador and cast off LOOSELY.
It is very important to do a very lost cast-off or your
scarf will be bowed on the cast off side. You may wish to use a size 19 or 35
needle to cast off, or simply concentrate on pulling each stitch to twice its
size as you do each cast off stitch.
Note: the reason for using a circular needle to
knit the scarf is so that you can knit one row of Deco-Stardust and slip the
knitting to the other end of the row to continue with Kid Merino.
