Instructions
First half
CO 60 sts in main color (MC). Join to work in round.
Follow either the line-by-line written instructions below, or the chart shown.

Editor's note: in using charts, begin at bottom right corner, (Rnd 1, st 1)
and work across to bottom left corner, then repeat over your total sts for first
rnd. This assumes that working needle is to right, and needle TO be worked is on
the left.
The chart shows what to do as you work across from right to left.
Now proceed to the Rnd 2, etc.
A helpful trick is to put a sticky note covering up the rows above the one you
are doing.
This means you look only at the row you are working now, and the one below. This
also helps to check your sts. For example, the chart shows a red st as the 1st
st of row 5 - which was a white st as the 1st st of row 4. Once you become
familiar with charts, they're far easier to use than the words as the colors
show you what's next!

Rnd 2: *(K1-MC, K2-CC, K2MC, K2-CC, K2-MC, K1-CC)* repeat between ** 6 times.
Rnd 3: *(K2-CC, K4-MC, K2-CC, K2tog-CC)* repeat between ** 6 times.
Rnd 4: *(K1-CC, K2-MC, K1-CC, K3-MC, K2-CC)* repeat between ** 6 times.
Rnd 5: *(K2-MC, K3-CC, K3-MC, K1-CC)* repeat between ** 6 times.
Rnd 6: *(K1-MC, K2CC, K1-MC, K2-CC, K1-MC, K2tog-CC)* repeat between ** 6 times.

Pass CC tail through all stitches on ndls as if to purl, pull to tighten. Secure both tails on wrong side.Second half

Turn work so CO edge is up. With CC, pick up 60 sts in Rnd 0. To line up pattern, first st picked up should be in st to left of a dec line. Join to work in round.
Repeat Rnds 1-14 as for first half. Cut yarn, leaving tails of about 8".
Pass CC tail through all stitches on needles as if to purl. Stuff ball to desired shape.
Pull CC tail to close hole. Secure both tails on wrong side. Squeeze ball to even out shape.
Attach hanging loop to one end of ball.
