Size 7 and 8 - 35" Crystal Palace Bamboo Circular Needles

Stitch holder
Gauge: 16 sts = 4" after blocking
Note: It is helpful to use a row
counter because the texture of the yarn makes it very difficult
to count the rows worked.
Abbreviations:
CO: Cast On; dec: decrease;
k: knit
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together (= a right slanting decrease)
p: purl
S2kp - slip 2 sts knitwise together as to knit, knit the next st, pass the 2
slipped sts together over the one just knitted.
sl: slip
ssk: slip 2 stitches individually as if to knit, then knit those 2 stitches
together through the back loops (= a left-slanting decrease)

Instructions

Using color B (Mochi Plus)
and size 8 circular needle, CO 321 sts. K one row. Change to size 7 needle and
begin bottom border pattern:
1: K1, m1,* K3, s2kp, K3, yo, K1, yo* to last 10 sts, end K3, yo, s2kp, yo, K3, m1,
K1.
2: Purl
3-6: Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more.
7: (dec row) K4, *s2kp, K7*. Repeat between *, ending last repeat K4 instead of
K7 - 257 sts
8: (ws) knit
9: Knit 1, ssk, K to last 3 sts, K2 tog, K1. - 255 sts
10: Knit
Change to color A (Aria)
11: K1, ssk, K121, place marker, K7, place marker, K 121, K2 tog, K1.
12: Purl
13: K1, ssk, K to last3 sts, K2 tog, K1.
14: Purl
15: Repeat row 13
16: Purl
17: Repeat row 13
18: Purl
19: Repeat row 13
20: Purl
21: (dec row) K1, ssk, K to within 32 sts of marker, (K2 tog, K2) 8 times to
marker, Sl marker, K7, (K2, K2 tog) eight times, K to last 3 sts, K2 tog, K1 -
110 sts ea side of marker.

Change to color B
23: K1, ssk, K to last 3 sts, K2 tog, K1.

Change to Color A. Repeat rows 11 - 22. 92 sts each side of markers.
Change to Color B. Repeat rows 23 - 30.
Change to Color A. Repeat rows 11-22. 74 sts each side of markers.
Change to Color B. Repeat rows 23-30.
Change to Color A. Repeat rows 11-22. 56 sts each side of markers.
Change to Color B. Repeat rows 23 - 30.
Change to Color A. Repeat rows 11-22. 38 sts ea side of markers.
Change to Color B. Repeat rows 23-30.
Change to Color A. Repeat rows 11-22. 20 sts ea side of markers.
Change to Color B. Repeat rows 11-22 twice.
Place remaining sts on st holder.
Cut yarn.
Neck Edge Border
Using size 7 needle, and with right side facing, pick up and knit 5 sts along
edge of narrow Mochi Plus stripes,
and 9 sts along edge of wider stripe, knit across sts on holder, pick up and
knit along remaining top edge as on beginning edge.
Knit 3 rows.
Bind off loosely using tip of size 8 needle.
