This soft, light  V-Neck Pullover
shows off the self-striping aspect
of Merino Stripes.
It's soft and cozy feeling and uses less
yarn due to the light, brushed structure
of the yarn.

Merino Stripes V-Neck Pullover

Sizes: Sm (Med, Lg, XL, 1X)

Finished Measurements: 37-3/4 (40, 42-1/4, 45-3/4, 49-1/8)”

Materials
6, (7, 7, 8, 8) - 50-gr balls Crystal Palace Merino Stripes, col. 69 - "dreamy"
Crystal Palace Bamboo or Daisy needles: size 10 (6 mm) straight.
Crochet Hook Size H.

Gauge: 14 sts and 19 rows = 4 inches, Stockinette st, using size 10 needles. For correct sizing be sure to work a gauge swatch.

Stitches Used: Stockinette St; (St st) knit on RS, purl on WS.
Crochet single crochet and double crochet for edge trim.

Back: Cast on 60 (64, 68, 72, 76) sts. Work in St st, work until piece measures 8 (9, 9, 9, 9)” from cast on row; end after working WS row. Increase 1 st at each end of next row; every 8 (8, 8, 6, 6) rows 2 (2, 2, 3, 4) times. — 66 (70, 74, 80, 86) sts. Work even until piece measures 13 (13 1/2, 14, 14 1/2, 14 1/2)” from cast on row; end after working WS row.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) sts at beginning of next two rows. Bind off 2 sts st at beg of next 2 rows. Decrease 1 st at each end every other row; 3 (3, 3, 5, 5) times —50 (54, 56, 58, 62) sts. Work even until armhole measures 7 1/2 (8, 8 1/2, 9, 9 1/2)”.
Shape Neck and Shoulders: Bind off 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) sts at beginning of next 2 rows, mark center 22 (22, 24, 24, 24) center sts. Work to marked center sts, join second ball of yarn, bind off marked center sts for neck, work to end. Working each side separately, bind off 4 (5, 5, 5, 5, 6) sts at beg each shoulder edge 2 times, AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 1 st at neck edge, every row 1 time.

Front: Work same as for the back to armhole. —66 (70, 74, 80, 86) sts.
Shape Armholes and Neck Division: Bind off 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) sts at beginning of next two rows. Bind off 2 sts st at beginning of next 2 rows AT The SAME TIME join second ball of yarn, bind off center 2 sts. —27 (29, 30, 32, 35) sts on each side. Working each side separately decrease 1 st at each armhole edge every other row; 3 (3, 3, 5, 5) times Work even until armhole measures 3 ”.
Shape V-Neck and Shoulders: Decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times and every 3 rows 6 times. —13 (15, 15, 16, 18) sts for each shoulder. Work even until armhole measures same as for back. Bind off 5(5, 5, 6, 6) sts at each shoulder edge 1 time and 4 (5, 5, 5, 5, 6) sts at each shoulder edge 2 times.

Sleeves: Cast on 37 (37, 41, 41, 45) sts. Working in St st work even for 6 (6, 6 1/2, 6 1/2. 7)”, increase 1 st at each end of next row; every 6 (6, 8, 8, 8) rows 5 times. —49 (49, 53, 53, 57,) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 17 (17 1/2, 18, 18 1/2, 19) ” from cast on row.
Shape Sleeve Cap: Bind off 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) sts at beginning of next 2 rows; 2 sts at beginning of next 4 rows. Decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row 6 times. —11 (11, 13, 13, 15) sts. Bind off all st loosely. Mark the center of the top of the sleeve.

Finishing: Sew shoulder seams. Match the centers of the sleeve tops to the shoulder seams; sew sleeve cap to armhole. Sew the side and sleeve seams. Work crochet trim.
Sleeve Trim: Using crochet hook RS facing join yarn at seam. Ch 3, *skip 4 sts, work 4 dc in space between next st, Ch 1; rep from * to beginning of rnd. Ch3, work 3 dc in same space as first Ch3, join with slip st. —9 (9, 10, 10, 11) shells made.

Neck Trim: RS facing, using crochet hook, join yarn at first BO stitch at neck division. Ch1.
Rnd 1:
2 sc at neck division; 12 sc along the straight edge of right neck to corner shaping; 25 (25, 28, 28, 28) sc around right neck shaping, 28 (28, 32, 32, 32) sc across back neck, 25 (25, 28, 28, 28) around left neck shaping to corner; 12 sc along the straight edge of left neck. Join to beg Ch1. —104 (104, 114, 114, 114) sc.
Rnd 2: Ch1 *skip 2 sc, 4 dc in next sc; ch1; rep from * 12 (12, 13, 13, 13) times [12, 12, 13, 13, 13 shells to right shoulder seam]; **skip 3 sc, 4 dc in next sc, ch1; rep from ** 7 (7, 8, 8, 8) times [7, 7,8, 8, 8 shells across back]; *skip 2 sc, 4 dc in next sc; ch1; rep from * 12 (12, 13, 13, 13) times [12, 12, 13, 13, 13 shells to right shoulder seam]; join underneath the beginning sc of rnd. Fasten off. —31 31,34, 34, 34 shells made.

Bottom Trim: RS facing, using crochet hook; join yarn at seam. Ch 3, *skip 3 sts, work 4 dc in space between next st, Ch 1 rep from * to beginning Ch 3, work 3 dc in same space as first Ch 3, join with slip st. —38 (42, 44,47, 49) shells made.
