This is a Special Design for Crystal Palace featuring
the angora blend Bunny Hop Yarn. This is a quick and EASY pattern that looks
impressive. And this yarn is machine washable.
Materials:
Crystal Palace Bamboo Size 2 (2.75mm) double
point needles or 2 circulars of the same size, depending on your preferred
method of knitting socks.
3 Balls of Crystal Palace Bunny Hop
(sample knit using #9575 "Circus")
Tapestry needle for closing toe
Abbreviations used:
K2tog- Knit 2 Sts together thru the front loops of both
stitches
Sts- Stitches
Tbl- Thru the back loop
K- Knit
P- Purl
PSSO- Pass Slipped stitch over
SL- slip next stitch to right hand needle as if to knit
YO- Yarn over
Yrn Fwd- Yarn forward (bring yarn to front of work)
Yrn Bck- Yarn Back (bring yarn to back of work)
Gauge:
6.5 Sts per inch and 7 rows per inch
Quilted Pattern Stitch: multiple of 10 Sts.

Round 1: *K2, YO, K2tog, K1* repeat to end of round.
Round 2, 3, 5 & 6: K all Sts.
Round 4: * Pull a loop from back to front through the YO you made in round
1, left of the stitch you are working.. Place this loop onto the left needle
then K the loop and the stitch together. K3 then pull up a loop in the same
YO as before place onto left needle and complete stitch*. Repeat this
sequence around.
Round 7: K2 then follow the directions in round 4 using the spaces created
from the loop placement on round 4. The spaces created in round 7 are used
in the round 4 repeats between the asterisks
ending with a K1.
Repeat rounds 2-7 until desired length of cuff.
Directions:
Cast on 60 Sts Join and work 12 rounds of K 2, P 2 ribbing.
K 1 round then follow pattern to desired length of cuff.
K5 rounds of Stockinette stitch before starting heel flap.
Heel Flap:
Working on half of the stitches,
Row 1: SL 1, K2,*Yrn Fwd, Sl 1, Yrn Bck, K1*, repeat to last 3 sts then K3.
Row 2&4: SL 1, K2, P to last 3 Sts, K3.
Row 3: SL 1, K3, *Yrn Fwd, SL 1, Yrn Bck, K1*, repeat to last 3 sts, K3.
Repeat these 4 rows to desired length for heel flap, end after an even row.
Heel Turn:
Row 1: SL1, K 15, K2tog, K1 Turn.
Row 2: SL 1, P3, P2tog, P1 Turn.
Row 3: SL 1, K4 K2tog, K1 turn.
Row 4: SL 1, P 5, P2tog, P1 turn.
Repeat rows 3&4 adding 1 more stitch to the center count until you have
worked all stitches.
Gusset:
Knit across 8 sts on Ndl #3, then K across the 8 sts onto Ndl #1, Pick up
and K 13 sts (or the number of slipped sts plus1). K across the 30 Sts that
have been on hold for the instep. Pick up and K 13(or the number of slipped
Sts Plus1) then K the remaining Sts on Ndl #3.
Decrease round: K to within the last two Sts on Ndl #1 then K2tog, SL1, K1,
PSSO, K across instep Sts to within the last 2 Sts then K2tog, SL1, K1,
PSSO, K to end of needle 3.
Alternate a Knit round and a decrease round four more times and then
decrease every round until you have a total of 16 stitches left. Place all
of the stitches for the top of the toe on one needle and the others on
another needle making sure that your yarn is at an end.
Cut yarn leaving a tail long enough to Kitchener stitch the toe closed.
Weave in all ends and Start your second sock.
When finished Dance a Jig in your new socks with Happy
feet!
