Teapot Block #One  designed by Susan Druding

Teapot #1 - with numbering for paper piecing

This is a paper foundation pieced block for printing. The block was designed to be 8" by 8" and should have a minimum border of 1/4" seam allowance added around the outer edge. I like to add 1/2" for safety. A second reversed version of the same teapot is under this one so you can make them facing both directions. You need to add your own numbers to the reversed design.

Print this out and adjust the size on a copy machine to make the block 8" or the desired size. Feel free to enlarge it to 10" or more, too. Larger is easier to sew if you aren't an experienced paper piecer.

Note that where you see the double lines crossing the paper piecing lines indicates a place where that section of the pattern is cut apart, has a 1/4-1/2" seam allowance added, and is pieced as a unit. Then the units are assembled to make the teapot. Sections are A, B, C, D, E. See the color samples of the Blocks and the Quilts for fabric placement ideas.

NOTE - If you are using NETSCAPE browser and these blocks don't quite fit on your page - you can do some adjusting on how this page prints out be deleting top and bottom margin. Click on PageSetup in the FILE menu. You can also delete the Doc. Title, URL and other information to enlarge your page for printing. IE browser doesn't let you set margins to Zero.
