KPFA Arrestees Court Date
1 pm Press Conference
Tuesday, August 10, 1999

The Berkeley court arraignment for the 52 people arrested on July 13, when Dennis Bernstein was ejected from KPFA was to have been on August 10. A press conference was called for 1pm in front of the court, next to Old City Hall on Martin Luther King Jr Way. The arraignment was not carried out as at, oddly it seemed at the last minute, the judge (Judge Jennie Rhine) recused herself on the basis that she was a past KPFA Local Advisory Board member and a former member of the Pacifica Board a few years previously. But, after a fair amount of confusion, everyone filed into court to be called and counted and were told that the arraignment before another judge would next be on Aug. 20.

The photos below are in order of occurrence and are on 2 pages. Link to page two is at bottom of this page.
